Ishina Mach Feld, Prague born and raised in Jachymov, a spa in
northwest Bohemia now also known as the Czech Republic. She
acquired love of the visual arts, mainly oil paintings early in
her life. The enrollment in an art class for talented children plus
frequent visits to many art galleries further deepened her
interest and desire to work with visual two-dimensional art.
Ishina worked early on only with pencil, charcoal and
watercolors. She also made a linocut "Flying Witch" for which
she received a prize in her early teens. After she turned
eighteen Ishina saved enough money to purchase her first oil
paint set and hasn't looked back since. Now a days she's devoting
her time creating works of art exclusively in oils and acrylics, ranging from
abstract renderings to landscapes, seascapes, still life and
portraits
In 1979 she
decided to seek freedom from communism. She arrived in New York
with one bag and no knowledge of English and lots of dreams! She
took many detours from her passion and interest for
painting while she supported herself. She moved around and
currently lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia and works on a full
time basis to further develop her artistic career. Ishina is a
member of SAC (Sacred Art Circle) and
TAA (Tidewater Art
Alliance) where she's currently the president. |
